The HoloLens is a device under development by Microsoft, which claims to be "Mixed Reality". This means that it incorporates elements of both augmented and virtual reality, giving the user the ability to interact with his or her environment while also performing totally virtual actions.
It features motion sensors to detect gaze, gesture detection, and voice control, along with a comprehensive developer kit. Microsoft has especially worked to integrate the device with existing apps like Skype, bringing an innovative, AR twist to an existing software. The development build is currently available for $3000.
