Raymond holds a Masters in Counselling from HELP University, and a Bachelor Degree (Hons) in Mechanical Engineering from University of Science Malaysia (USM). Since 2011, he has been actively promoting mental wellbeing in corporate settings, education settings, and community as a Counsellor and Employee Assistance Programme (EAP) professional. During his earlier career as an Engineer, he has worked with both local and Fortune 500 companies, in Malaysia as well as Venezuela, Thailand, and China.
As a registered and licensed Counsellor (Kaunselor Berdaftar, KB., Perakuan Amalan, PA.), Raymond has had experience in providing individual and group counselling services to youth and adults, covering a wide range of issues such as career planning, couple relationship, suicide, self-esteem, stress management, anger management, depression, and family conflict. He is Choice Theory/Reality Therapy Certified, trained in Critical Incident Stress Management by the International Critical Incident Stress Foundation, a Certified QPR Suicide Prevention Gatekeeper Instructor, and a HRDF Accredited Trainer. In addition to that, Raymond is experienced in developing and delivering training programs for private companies as well as psychoeducational programs for youth and NGOs.
Raymond is passionate about crisis and grief support work. Besides attending to incidents at the workplace, he volunteered in crisis support such as the MH370 incident and Covid-19 pandemic.
Since 2018, Raymond started to assume the role of Supervisor and completed supervising 2 interns from Monash University Malaysia, who have successfully completed their Master of Professional Counselling.
