Two excursions are organized during the Conference sponsored by the Region of Crete.

More specifically:

Thursday, September 28:

Visit to Malia village

Visit to the village of Malia a traditional historical and cultural destination. During Thursday evening a range of events are organized aiming at bringing visitors in touch with local traditions and gastronomy. Finger food dinner with local specialties will also be provided in this excursion (back to Heraklion around 23.00 pm).

Friday, September 29

Two events are planned for Friday afternoon, after the end of the Conference’s sessions (back to Heraklion around 23.00 pm):

a) Visit to Miliarakis Winery

The Miliaraki Vineyard House is located in Saba, Heraklion, 28 km south-east of Heraklion, at a beautiful location, lush with vineyards The vineyard welcomes wine and nature lovers for a unique experience of fun and relaxation. Visitors can taste all wines produced at the winery, and accompany them with Cretan cheeses.

b) Visit to the Foundation for Research and Technology Hellas - FORTH

Tour in FORTH to attend events organized in the context of “Researcher Night 2017”. These events are under the initiative of the European Union that has started in 2005; and takes place every year the last Friday of September and aims at publicizing research results. Visitors will have the chance to move around, explore research results and products and enjoy Cretan finger food.

Participants will be transferred by buses to the above destinations.
