This week has been by far the most exciting, and simultaneously discouraging, that I have ever experienced! I began the week following up with several professionals, sending out messages on LinkedIn, and even cold calling several law offices that I found online. So far, I have not received replies to a majority of these messages, and have gone straight through to voicemail with nearly everyone I have called. I’m really starting to feel the pressure, as many people in my class have interviews set up already or even have their actual mentor! Towards the end of the week, I actually got into contact with an attorney and will be in contact further to start setting up my first interview! This recent development is feeling very promising, not only because it’s the true beginning of my immersion in the professional world, but because after only being able to get a receiver telling me someone’s voicemail was full, it’s refreshing to make human contact. Also, the law class that I am currently enrolled in at the Career and Technology Center has finally really started diving into the topic. It’s so nice to learn the fine details of government systems in a traditional classroom and also through my own research. It's all coming together. I feel as if I’m still slightly struggling with managing my time and everything that I have on my plate, and most of my free time has been going to ISM. This is a big trend I have started to notice!
