My name is McKenzie Porter and I am currently a junior at Frisco High School. This year, I have chosen to study criminal law for my independent study.
I would describe myself as musically inclined-- I play the flute, piano, and am currently the Drum Major of the Frisco High School Marching Band. Outside of school, I am always listening to, playing, or creating music. Another one of my passions is reading, whenever I get the time! I also enjoy running, competitively and recreationally. I have qualified for TAAF State twice, and the AAU National Junior Olympics in the 800 meter race and relay.
I am involved in several organizations, such as the National Honor Society and the Frisco High School Climate Committee. In my free time, I volunteer at the Miracle League, a program that assists children with special needs in playing sports and participating in other activities.
Mission Statement
Through the Independent Study and Mentorship program, I strive to attain a deep understanding, sense of direction, and practical experience in the field of criminal law. By passionately embodying motivation and perseverance, as well as mastering a heightened level of communication, I aim to gain a better vision of my path in life, and my place in the world. Through this process, I hope to one day manifest all that it takes to impact the lives of those who need it the most.
