Second Mentor Visit

We have decided that I will definitely be focusing on the Federal Rules of Evidence, and he let me know that a lot, if not a majority, of the state laws of evidence were based off the federal code. Also, most law schools only teach the federal rules. Therefore, it will definitely be more beneficial to narrow down my research of this into federal evidence. We also talked about looking into Evidence Outlines on Google, which will give me a better idea of the groupings in which I will categorize my website. Another interesting point of conversation was about misconceptions and how TV and technology play a role in how we perceive trial, in any form or field. Mr. Sandel introduced the idea that I could insert clips into my website that focus on the presentation of evidence or trial and talk about what they did right/wrong. I could even include some of this in my quiz that I am planning on having on the website. Overall, I am so grateful to have the opportunity to speak with Mr. Sandel and heed his advice. He even lended me a book to read, Texas Rules of Court, which has a chapter on the Federal Rules of Evidence!
