The idea of Finance-Glance came from a personal experience. When I started ISM, I chose finance, but little did I know, that there were three degrees associated with this topic. MBA, CPA, and CFA are the three degrees that have contrasting differences that confused me. As I interviewed several professionals in finance, they switched from different careers into finance and they faced the same difficulty in choosing which degree. The reason I created this website was to help incoming college students visualize and enhance their decision on which of the degrees to choose. Finance-Glance gives these students an opportunity to narrow down their choice and relieve their stress in pursuing the right degree. To create this website, I went through several websites, closely researching several details and statistics about each degree. To make it even more simpler, I summarized the important information of each degree and made it to where college students could glance over the information as a resourceful site in order to help cancel out their multiple choices. The reason Finance-Glance is more extensive than other informational sites is that I included several resources including my own interview, blogs from famous financial professionals, and included tabs for current job openings in the financial world. Uniquely, I also rearranged the website so that college students are easily able to peer over the website and access the important aspects of the website.

When creating Finance-Glance, the most difficult barrier I faced was contacting several financial professionals because their availability on any day was rare in some cases. I would call these professionals directly or sometimes to their assistant, but they would always put me on hold or direct my call to a deadline, which stressed my options vastly. Luckily, few companies responded with beneficial advice regarding my website and encouraged my dedication towards the website. Another difficult blockade I faced was gathering the information of each degree. There was so much information I could gather about each pathway, but I narrowed it down to the common questions any typical college student would ask.

In the real world, Finance-Glance could teach more than college students, in fact, it could teach any middle school student or above about these specific degrees. This website could educate students on how these certifications are different and what purpose do each of these degrees serve towards jobs, salary, colleges, and future plans.

Creating this website prepared me for my final product because I noticed that time management skills are very important when working on a website. I noticed the lack of information and other details that could have been implemented on my website. I also prepared myself by coming up with new ventures such as creating a handbook along with my website and connecting with several universities to encourage their usage of my site to help college students.

All in all, my goal for Finance-Glance is overall benefit incoming college students in their decisions with finance. I hope to efficiently narrow down their stress over these degrees and help educate their knowledge of each degree before choose to pursue in one of them.
