Informed by a life-long love of architecture, history, fine arts and travel, I enjoy partnering with you to achieve creations that draw from your personal story and interests. The result is undeniably design conscious, but never "over designed".
Available internationally, I am pensive here in Amsterdam en route to the Chelsea Design Show in London.
Sleek lacquer and stainless pulls depicting the Chinese Zodiac are counterpoint to an 18th century reproduction writing table set on a vintage Bokhara.
Floors are Dutch White Oak. "Boomerangs", in acrylic by Luca Royal, Australia.
This project revitalized a 1970s split level, creating a uniquely harmonious space to display art and souvenirs of travel in Asia and Europe.
Beyond trends, a reflection of you
A villa high atop Agios Tychonas is testament to creating a home that goes beyond trends and convention, delivering a truly unique space for living and entertaining.
This
photo displays several pieces. The meticulous design of a marquetry bar
includes an inlaid band to mirror the curved bookshelf. Velvets, cowhides
on bar stools and the choice of woods and hangings create an informal
living room for the owner's favourite pastimes.
I was honoured to design all interiors and furnishings for fabrication by the artisans of Panyotis Kountourides, selecting fabrics from Mediterranean House, Limassol and bringing on board specialists such as mosaic artist and conservator Sharon Taylor of Paphos.
Renovation & garden architecture, Saanich, BC Canada
A senior needing additional income grounded my work to transform a 1940s bungalow, literally a house in ruin before the renovation.
An impossibly narrow garage and steep driveway is now a south facing terrace and skylit house extension. The interior flows through French doors to an expansive patio and rain garden beyond.
The entire house was gutted to create a ground level, accessible owner's suite with a two bedroom revenue apartment above. The following year, a pergola was added to support flowering vines. This was a challenge due to placement of the stair to the south terrace. Ultimately, I designed access through the side of pergola, setting back rafters for access while achieving the owner's request for a shaded terrace.
Continuity and hospitality
This timeless interpretation of the egg and dart motif includes shafts of Canadian wheat and three maple wood treatments (to be protected under glass) in a table for fourteen.
Creating a cipher for the owners for a further personal stamp on this piece proved to be a design challenge. Once approved, was carved into the corner ovals on all four sides.
The dining room is adjacent to the formal living room with breathtaking views over the Mediterranean Sea. The egg and dart motif reflects the cycle of life and continuous renewal of friendship and welcome to this Russo-Canadian couple.
