My interest lies within my family history, attitudes, stories of black history, racial identity and the colours associated with the Caribbean.
My work attempts to merge memories and re-create new found ones. I have achieved this by manipulating old family photographs in Photoshop and transferring them into print.
I strive to capture elements of my family’s migration, re-living moments and allowing the impossible to become possible. The nostalgia associated with my art allows me to re-live the past, and incorporate elements of my life into my artwork.
Imbedded within my prints are connotations of love, bonds and togetherness. The work is an unfolding narrative of who I am and where I fit into the world today.
