I also made my first cold call on Friday. This was an incredibly intimidating task for me, but it went extremely well. I ended up getting the contact information of the doctors secretary, and she said she will talk to the surgeon about me. Making my first cold call was a growth opportunity for me because I tend to dislike speaking on the phone, so calling a person I have never met and asking for an interview was a big step for me. It was difficult for me to pick up the phone and call. I was unexplainably nervous, but after I completed the call I had a sense of relief. It pushed me outside of my comfort zone, allowing me to grow and gain important professional skills.

I got the opportunity to research Huntington's Disease this week, which was an intriguing topic for me. There are so many complexities yet to be understood with degenerative diseases. I hope to continue learning about the other degenerative diseases and neurological deficiencies throughout the year. I am looking forward to the opportunity to speak with professionals whom have already dealt with these diseases in order to learn what the battles are like in person and how it feels when a battle of this magnitude is won.
