This was a last minute interview as I scheduled it on Monday, and the interview was done on Tuesday. Dr. Banister was a great source of knowledge and inspiration. During the interview, he invited me to sit in on a patient consultation with him. It was an unbelievable gesture and an overall incredible experience. I have emailed Dr. Banister to ask him to be my mentor and am currently waiting on a response.

My second interview was with Dr. Steve Vernino. Dr. Vernino was also incredibly encouraging and welcoming. He is in the prime of his career and was very open to sharing; however, I did not connect with him in the same way I did with Dr. Banister. Dr. Vernino was my sixth and final interview for ISM, so he marked the end to the first phase in my ISM journey.

This week I also met with Ms. Sarah Seger, a research assistant at one of my earlier interviews, Dr. Bradley Lega's, lab. Dr. Lega had reached out to me a week or two ago to put me in contact with Ms. Seger in order to help me with my research for my original work. Ms. Seger and I talked through a topic of research for my original work, and she set me up on a research software called Mat Lab. She asked to meet with me again next week so that she could help input the coding that will give me access to the data for my research.
