My first interview for the week was with Dr. Dale Swift, a pediatric neurosurgeon at UT Southwestern. This interview was extremely unique in relation to my other interviews as I was not the only student participating in the conversation. There was a student from Liberty High School who was interviewing Dr. Swift with me. While this proved to be uncomfortable at times, it also ended up being incredibly beneficial as our questions approached the interview from very different perspectives, so I was able to gain more information than I would have had it only been me in the interview.

My second interview for the week was with Dr. Munro Cullum also at UT Southwestern. This interview provided me with a new perspective as Dr. Cullum does not have an MD, rather he has a PhD, yet he is still involved in clinical medicine as he works closely with other departments, such as neurology and neurosurgery, to diagnose and treat patients. I enjoyed seeing how a person could involve themselves in medicine without going to medical school as it provided me with a new way to look at things.
