The main task that I worked on this week was a research assessment over Tuberous Sclerosis Complex. I am intrigued by the development that has presented itself in the understanding of the complicated disease. Over a short time, there has been incredible discoveries in the diagnosis and treatment of the disorder, increasing my interest in the brains interaction with the other organs because many diseases only impact one organ; however, TSC impacts not only the brain, but many other organs as well.

I also managed to arrange my fourth interview. I will be interviewing a neurosurgeon next Tuesday. I am excited for this interview as it will be my first interaction with a practicing neurosurgeon. At this point, I have only interviewed a neurologist whose focus is research, so learning from someone who is immersed in the clinical environment will be exciting and different for me.

Lastly, I am in the process of rescheduling an interview because the doctor had something come up that needed to be taken care of, which has taught me that at times, medicine can be unpredictable and can require flexibility as it can cause sudden schedule changes based on the current situation.
