While working on my Original Work, I had to complete many smaller tasks in the process of composing the final product. The first component was performing statistical analysis using a software called MatLab. The purpose of this was to convert the experimental data into figures that could be more easily analyzed for trends and the statistical significance of the results.

The next piece I had to do for my Original Work was compile research on the basics of the topics of analysis. I then synthesized the information to create the introduction to my research paper. I used six sources in my paper to support the knowledge I already had on the topic.

The third and final task was the composition of the actual research paper. In doing this, I had to analyze everything from the experimental and statistical procedures used to analysis of the results to areas in which the results from this research could be used in the future. Because there were so many pieces to the end result, my Original Work allowed for me to gain experience in many areas of medical research as well as grow in ways I would never have expected.
