As I sit at 12:45am, making yet another craft, I sit back in victory and amazement at what my hands can do. My hands allowed me to craft an intricate paper flower, spraypaint letters for my diy dining room decor, type up report and emails, do Google searches on my phone, console my child when he wakes, and make myself a midnight snack- all within the same hour. How awesome that he made our hands to operate this way. And it was alot of busy work-which I do often times do, into the wee hours of the night.

He could have made us with no hands, two fingers, or made them useless.

But we hold alot of power in our hands. Swearing on the Bible, bringing down a gavel, not journaling, not picking up the Bible.

Let's fill our minds with brain food, so our hands can get to work, doing busy work for God!

Our hands are powerful and great creations, but the ultimate power lies in the hands of God.

Yet I am always with you; you hold me by my right hand.
Psalm 73:23 NIV

So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.

Gifted hands are hands that comfort, heal, massage, grow, harvest, hug, cultivate, kneed, build, wash, write, teach, forgive, feed, protect, etc. There are so many adjectives that can describe the gifts of our hands. Jesus used his hands to heal, teach, and comfort his people. There are many verses and parables in the bible that can speak of Jesus and his disciples great works. We could talk about Jesus feeding the 5000, or Moses directing the israelites across the red sea. Great works are all throughout the bible and “Each one should use whatever gift he has received, faithfully administering God’s grace in its various forms” 1 Peter 4:10. Everyday we should be praying and asking for direction on the next plan that needs to be fulfilled. Should we serve food to the homeless today? Are you called to be a gifted braider or make up artist to make someone feel and look beautiful? Ask God how you can be used as we don’t want to sit in idleness as “Lazy hands make a man poor, but diligent hands bring wealth” Proverbs 10:4. Always be mindful of how you are using your hands. Your hands shouldn’t be used to abuse, mislead, or harm anyone as “He who has clean hands and a pure heart...He will receive blessings from the Lord and vindication from God his savior” Psalm 34:4-5. Lets bless others and receive our blessing from the Lord today!
