Education is sooo important to me. I know that it was important to my family as they sacrificed their time in waking early and figuring out how to get me to the school they thought would be best for my education, and pushing me the whole way. It's even more important to me now that I have my own child, to give him the best opportunity to learn, and learn in the best environment possible. We often look at children 0-21 as those who must be in school, learning for 8 hours a day, to enjoy a career afterwards. But it's so important for us adults too! Our brains continue to create new neural pathways and alter existing ones in order to adapt to new experiences, learn new information, and create new memories. We are learning until we die! But, after school is over, sometimes we forget to reach out to educate ourselves. It's hard in our world! We have fictional books, tv shows and social media that fill our minds with things that are nice, but, not necessarily stimulating to the mind. Proverbs, the book of knowledge teaches us to Seek it like silver, and search for it as for hidden treasure" (Proverbs 2:4) Once a year, I ask myself, who in my circle are experts on specific things?Health, education, business? How can we connect to those people and get guidance on? One year, I am actually going to make this a reality and tap into my resources that I am sitting on! Proverbs 13:20 Walk with the wise and become wise, for a companion of fools suffers harm.
