Julia Kaja Hrovat, is the recipient of many fashion awards granted to young designers. Her road as a designer began at the secondary school of Design and Photography and concluded with a degree in graphic design. Julia Kaja continued her studies at the Faculty of Design in Ljubljana where she received her BA in textiles and fashion design. During her studies at the Faculty of design she spent a year as an exchange student in Istanbul at Mimar Sinan Fine Art University. Upon graduating she went on to Intern in Stockholm and Antwerp. Presently she is finishing her masters at NTF in Ljubljana. Her designs are inspired by the history, cultural heritage and surroundings of her background and environment. The question of identity is always present in each of her collections. The symbols of cultural identity and architecture are visually transmitted in her designs with which she emphasizes the identity and history of Slovenes creating timeless pieces with significant messages of their importance and values. The collections are designed for women of all age groups. The woman she designs for is self confident, interested in culture, a business woman, an artist who enjoys living and enjoys her life.
