Commonwealth began in an old 4,500 square foot warehouse space as the brainchild of Jennifer Sherowski, Lance Normine, and Evergreen Skateparks (a skatepark construction company). The park is accompanied by a shoe focused skate shop, and features a warm, welcoming, and encouraging environment. You'll be hard pressed to find transition over 3 feet at the park, making it enjoyable for all abilities. Furthermore, even when expert skaters are around, the vibe is always one of encouragement. Commonwealth also features a variety of specific skate education programs, centered around inclusion and fun. Finally, if the weather is not optimal or it is dark, there are few better options within Portland for fun alternative activities.
