I am a German National having come to England in 1985 in my early 20's as a 'Army Wife'. I fluently speak German and English and work in both languages.
I believe in the importance of a trusting relationship between therapist and client. Trust results in genuineness, empathy and acceptance shown by the therapist. It is from this therapeutic relationship that the client will gain the confidence to explore their difficulties whether past or present. I am curious about the influences of language, culture and contexts and I am passionate about encouraging engagement in the therapeutic relationship. To me it is important that I provide a safe and confidential space for you to talk about the difficulties you may be experiencing.
Over the last 15+ years, I have been able to build up extensive experience of working in the public sector, NHS, not-for-profit, voluntary and private sector, supporting people with a variety of vulnerabilities including mental health, addictions, trauma, relationship difficulties, domestic violence, abuse and adjustment issues. I have had opportunities to experience working with individuals, couple and families from many different backgrounds including clients where English is not their first language.
I am a UKCP registered Humanistic Psychotherapeutic Counsellor, Systemic Practitioner and NLP Coach and Supervisor working towards accreditation.
