Our show consists of two rounds of competition. The first round allows all entered competitors to perform 60 seconds of music they chose and submitted. Each one is judged by a panel of judges using a 4.0-6.0 scale. The top competitors then go head to head for round 2, improv-ing a song on the spot. Our show is an official qualifier for the national air guitar championships, from which a US representive is sent to Finland for the World air guitar championships.
We collect donations to benefit the Ronald McDonald Houses of Central Florida, through financial donations and a silent auction at the event. Our sponsors help cover licensing fees, marketing/media costs, and funds for our competitors to travel to NYC for semifinals. All other funds are given directly to the Ronald McDonald Houses.
We fill out the show with an MC that is a top US air guitarist, The Hennessy Williams. He has performed on a national level and performs at the Orlando show each year. We also do a themed event, partnering with the cosplay community to have actors in character. Our show fills the venue with a crowd of 80-100 people, with more anticipated in 2018. It is a wide demographic but mainly 21+. We get featured on Fox 35 with David Martin, interviewed by the Orlando Sentinel, and appear at local events leading up to our show.
