Lets get mathematical! Adventure Time starts with you being greeted by Cuber who informs you that you'll be taking part in five Graybles with common themes, he advises you to pay attention to each of the 5 stories you will be playing as you'll be asked to guess the themes The adventures kick off with Finn, Jake & BMO all bored and looking for something interesting to do when all of a sudden they discover Finn's parents old investigation machine in Jake's tree-hole, BMO gives it a light prod and springs to life and prints off their first mission.
Finn and Jake Investigations turns The Land of Ooo into a 3D dream but for some reason it irks me to see the world in this way, don't worry it looks beautiful but as a fan of the TV show it's just a shame that they cant use the same art style for the game. I love how Finn and Jake Investigations uses the real voice actors, so when we get to meet characters like Magic Man, Cinnamon Bun and LSP it feels like you're actually playing an episode which really draws you in but at points you do start to notice the lack of dialogue when you hear them repeating what they said earlier for a different objective, this is especially clear after every fight that takes place.
At times the controls can feel a little cumbersome, for example when you turn to look at object or interact with it sometimes you have to walk away to realign yourself back up to it which I found in a few places. The gameplay is very simple but from someone who is over 25 I kinda expected that for a title that I believe is a 3+ action adventure.
The fights can seems a little boring and from what I see you cant actually lose, this is probably for the best for the age range they are really trying to hit out upon. Personally my favorite thing about this game is the combining ability, if you have to reach something a little grim high up, Jake wont reach for it because he doesn't wanna touch it but if you combine him and rubber gloves he will reach out and grab them.
In closing I would recommend this title to anyone who is a fan of Adventure time as it did make me feel like I was taking part in an episode, as it contains all the characters, humour and references you'd expect to find, but if you've never seen the show I 'd say don't pick it up as you might find it to be a little dull in comparison to titles like Grim Fandango, Monkey Island and Day of the Tentacle.
