Quilts made for my daughters from dyed cloth, pieces of outgrown clothing and found/donated fabric with the compositions and colours reflecting each of their distinctive personalities.
The project explores attachment to material objects and emotional durability.
My daughters were involved in aspects of the design process, in the hope that this would lead to a strong sense of attachment with the quilts.
Our collaborations begin the story of each quilt, but I hope that their narratives will grow over time and they stay with my daughters, be cared for, repaired if necessary and perhaps be passed on as heirlooms.
