This past week in ISM has been focused on getting interview assessments done and making sure my mentor and I are set up for greatness. Our first visit is actually tomorrow! I’m very excited to get started. Being ahead in assessments will greatly benefit me in the future as band competitions start up. I also can’t wait to see what kinds of ideas Vanessa will have about original work! From our interview I could already see how creative she was, and that was without knowing her for very long. It’s going to be really beneficial for me to have a mentor during the brainstorming stages of original work. I’m also hoping that I can get some guidance as to where to direct my upcoming research assessments. Psychotherapy covers so much ground, and it would be really cool if I could find something unique to dive into. I’m thinking that I will begin looking more into specific mental disorders first, and then focus on how to treat them with therapy. Most of my research up to this point has been focused on treatment only. This week I hope to continue at this pace, minimizing my overall workload as best as I can.
