Second semester is really picking up now in ISM. I’ve been preparing my presentation for my next speech, which will cover all of first semester. I’m really excited to share some of the responses that I got from my pre and post speech evaluations. A lot of the responses were very insightful, and I think that it’ll catch the audience’s interest when I pull those slides up. I’ve also been working out some schedule changes, since I sadly lost my early release this semester. I actually met with Vanessa today, and we were able to get everything worked out and brainstorm some more for final product. I just finished drafting my proposal for that, and I’ll be making a rough draft of a calendar soon. Talking with Vanessa about things like self-compassion and now empathy is so cool because I don’t get to learn deeply about any of those topics in my academic classes. Mentor visits always get me very excited about immersing myself in research and new knowledge, which is something that I’m going to miss greatly when I go off to college. Speaking of college, our UNT field trip that got cancelled next semester is on for next week! Looks like I’ll be contacting professors this week and getting some classes scheduled. I’m excited to go back and sit in; especially since it may be where I decide to go to college next year.
