It’s been almost a month since my last blog! Since I had my original work completed by the last time I blogged, I actually didn’t have to add anything to it over the winter break. A lot of what I’ve been doing now has been preparation for the Research Showcase that’s coming up next week. I got my whole board done, and my portfolio is ready to go. I thought that I was all set until I met with my mentor earlier today and she had some fun ideas about adding something more interactive to my portion of the table! We also talked about what I want my final product to look like. This year has been so different for me, and Vanessa has really inspired me to get deep and creative with everything that I’ve done in ISM. We’ve actually already talked about hosting another night for teens to just come into the office and hang out, similarly to the way that Anxiety Acts ended up concluding. Since the event, I’ve had a few people come up to me and say that they really wanted to go, and I’ve become very passionate about everything that I’ve been learning through Vanessa and my research. I want so badly for all teens to know that we’re all struggling through high school together. For my final product, Vanessa and I discussed including a lot of teens in making a series of videos that tackle different emotions. It’s all still very much in the works as of right now, but I’m extremely excited to see where second semester takes me!
