This past week in ISM took some unexpected turns. I ended up having to cancel appointments with my mentor, one visit at her office and one trip to Dallas to see Screenplay, due to health issues. Luckily, there’s nothing seriously wrong with me and I’m back to work. I met with Vanessa today, actually, and we finally got a chance to get back in the groove of my product. I showed her a survey that was actually sent out by my school counselors from the district. It talked a lot about GPA and some self-concept aspects, which is good in a sense, but Vanessa and I noticed how it lacked more concern for students. From this I came up with the idea to create my own survey, which I ended up doing later that night. The survey should help gather some data that I can use when I present to the counseling department! I felt a lot better after making that progress today, since I wasn’t able to make as much during the week this past week because of my health issues. From here until my next mentor visit, my focus will be on gathering some discussion topics and coming up with ideas for the event that we’re going to plan. I’m still trying my best to move forward despite some unexpected obstacles that I had to move through last week!
