This week was huge for me in ISM!! My original work is officially complete a month in advance of the deadline. My Anxiety Acts event was a hit on Friday! There wasn’t as big of a turn out as I had expected, but the people that showed up found everything to be very beneficial. It turns out that even the little things can really benefit teens. All of my attendees enjoyed my mentor’s play therapy room and all of her sandboxes throughout her office. I got lots of positive feedback on the presentation that I gave. My friends said that they actually zoned right in! The discussion that we had afterwards was pretty great as well. I was so pleased that some people were able to share what was going on with them. It ended up being a lot like a group therapy session. Everyone was able to find ways to relate to each other and see that they weren’t alone in their struggles. I would say that everything turned out much better than I had hoped! It’s such a huge relief to have it done. Now I won’t be cramming over winter break like I was last year. Maybe I can even plan for final product! These next couple weeks should be much more relaxing; it’s just showcase prep from here!
