First blog post of senior year! I'm so excited to continue in ISM for another year. Being an ISM 2 student has already given me a great head start. I had my first interview last Wednesday, and I have another scheduled for tomorrow! My first interview couldn't have gone any better, so I'm very excited to continue contacting people. I'm looking forward to finding a new mentor and gaining a new perspective on psychotherapy. Comparing the beginning of last year to this year, I would say that I'm a lot more confident in everything that I'm doing. It's much easier for me to take initiative now. My introduction speech last week went very well; I feel like I have a better opener to my speech for the year. I actually felt an odd sense of calmness once I stood up there and began speaking. It's amazing what a year of practice can do to improve my public speaking skills. As far as research goes, for now I'm looking into different forms of therapy, similarly to how I started last year. I'm making it my goal to learn as much as possible before I head off to college so I can be over-prepared for psychology courses. I'm very hopeful for this year in ISM after having such a great start!
