Constantly trying to perfect the art of sharing songs that have substance and strong lyrics behind them, Kevin Stokley shared with us some details on his upcoming single "Avalanche" as well as what he thinks about the current state of music.
"I love when you hear a song that makes you feel something", says Stokley. "But what we're lacking in most music genres these days is the ability to hear a story through what our body is telling us sounds good. Does it make me think something as well? That's why I was so excited to hear what Troy, Ross, and Blair had come up with. The song is definitely uptempo and fun, but it tells a story through imagery - the kind that lacks in today's music".
As a fan of songs with substance, Kevin Stokley has already proved that he isn't afraid to tip the scales of the genre. "Stoned", released last December, was anything but what you would hear on today's Country Radio. Just a man and a guitar with slight nuances of accompaniment. "I like to let the song tell the story. I'm not out here trying to shake my hips or bust a move. That's entertainment - not music".
