Project PAUSE focuses on the residents facing mental conditions, regardless of how minor or insignificant they may seem.
One in five adults experience a mental health condition every year. A mental condition affects a person's thinking, feeling, or mood. These conditions may affect someone's ability to relate to others and can have effects on the individual, their family, and their community.
Too many citizens experience varying degrees of anxiety and depression. With the growing influence of technology, we are plagued by significant problems with attention, hyperactivity, or acting impulsively, all of which are characteristic of ADHD. There are more serious illnesses that are not getting adequate attention in the community.
Embracing our humanity via Project PAUSE will allow participants to experience personal growth by learning about themselves, one another, and the communal necessity of stillness.
