This year, we have created the footsteps theme. The idea is to capture the long and hard journeys that refugees have to take to reach the crowded, underdeveloped camps where they must then wait until they can get accepted into a new country - a process that can last years. Specifically, we are focusing in on the the kilometers refugees have had to walk in desperate hope of finding shelter. The footprints they leave tell stories of hardship and pain, but also of hope and perserverance. Through this year's artwork, we will be highlighting these stories and what they mean for refugees, and what they mean for our global community.
