Don't Snake Anyone- This is when you 'drop in' before another skater who was waiting before you. It's essentially the skateparks version of line cutting. When you’re standing at the top of a busy ramp it's important to wait your turn. You should let everyone who was waiting before you ‘drop in’ and make their run.
Dropping In- The metal pipe at the top of of most quarter pipes is the coping. You will see many riders across all skateparks using it for sliding/grinding and stalling. It's very important that you do not hang your skateboard over the coping while waiting your turn to drop into the ramp.
Awareness- Be aware of your surroundings when skateboarding. When crossing any area of the park, make sure no one is skating. Also, if you fall and are uninjured, move out of the way quickly. If you board gets away from you while skating, make sure to give everyone a warning a board is out of control. Additionally, if a collision occurs, make sure to check on the other skater and apologize.
Long Skate Laps/Runs- Do not get greedy with the length of your run, end within a reasonable amount of time. Give other skaters a chance to take their laps.
Respect- Let people use the park as much as you and your friends. Also this applies to beginners, everyone was once a beginner in the skatepark. Remember to be curious and not abuse other skaters, educate if the skaters are using the park improperly. If you use the park properly and treat other users with respect and they will treat you the same.
When You're Not Skating- Most features in a skatepark are meant to be used as a skate feature. Make sure you stand or sit out of the way and not on a feature.
One-Upping- When you see someone trying a trick that you can do, do not go and do it on the same feature in front of the skater. Everyone progresses at different rates, offered suggests that may help, just do not gloat. Respect gets respect.
Be Nice to Kids- Self-explainitory. If kids need help, educate them to expand their knowledge.
Flatland Tricks- Do not practice flatland tricks in the park, practice off to the side, so others skaters flow will be uninterrupted.
Questions- Questions are great, but ask the experienced skaters in moderation.
Respect the Locals- Locals basically run each individual skatepark, and care about their local park. Be respectful to them, clean up, ask questions, be friendly, and they will reciprocate.
Apologies- Do not be afraid to apologize if you think you are in the wrong.
Photo Rule- If you are new and want to take photos, ask before you begin taking them. Some skaters can be territorial when a camera is out, so asking can avoid tension. Most skaters will be more than happy to have pictures taken.
