Computer science creates mindsets and innovation that provide solutions to major problems in our world today.
connect(ed) exposes youth to the field of computer science at an elementary level.
Our Mission
Connect(ed) provides elementary school students with early exposure to the field of computer science through high school student-led organizations. We facilitate connections between high school and elementary school students, in which high school students are encouraged to make an impact in their local communities. Our goal is to ensure that elementary schools have access to the technology needed to support computer science education. Coding promotes critical and analytical thinking skills, which are essential to solving the problems facing our communities today.
About Us
We are a group of dreamers, thinkers, and change agents who put our heads together and founded connect(ed). We are made up of four passionate high school students from Westwood High School in Austin, TX accompanied by five brilliant board members, who are determined to change the world (starting locally) by increasing technical education and accessibility at an elementary level.

Connect(ed) offers kids opportunities to explore a growing field of study in an easily accessible and enjoyable way, and allows the high school students involved in it to become more active in the community. Sharing in education and encouraging others to learn is a huge part of what we do with Connect(ed), and that's one of the many reasons I enjoy it.
Natalie Bayer, 11th Grade Westwood Chapter
The work connect(ed) does is important because of the early exposure that the kids are getting to computer science and coding in particular. With the growth of technology, having knowledge in these areas is becoming crucial in all fields, including medicine and business, and I also love that not only the students, but the teachers/volunteers, get to interact with new people as well, which is an amazing opportunity! It's a lot of fun for everyone!
