3D Virtual pet is an educational game designed for Chinese language learners. Users could choose one from the two animal characters (panda Babao and monkey Lingtong) as their language learning partner. Users could interact with the characters in various ways, and the characters will perform adorable reactions while guiding the user to go through a series of language practices.


This projects aims to explore how multimedia technologies could enhance language learning process, by creating a lovely animal learning partner and a fun and attractive interactive environment.


Characters and environment:

Modelled in Maya, texture map created in photoshop, coreldraw, illustrator


Interactions:

Programmed using Python in Vizard VR software (http://www.worldviz.com/vizard-virtual-reality-software/).


Flash games:

Created using Adobe Flash, inbuilt as HTML


Voice recognition and generation made possbile by iflytek (http://www.iflytek.com/)
