weeks of 1/7 - 1/13

Weekly Update

In two days I will participate in the Frisco ISD ISM Research Showcase, the most important event in ISM at this point in my senior year. Thus, the primary focus of my previous week has been preparation for the showcase.

Held annually at the Ford Center at the Star, the Research Showcase is an event that highlights all of the work and research that ISM students from all over Frisco ISD have put into the program. Each student must bring their display board and research portfolio and stand in front of a table for about 2 hours, answering any questions and explaining their studies to inquiring attendees. Students with mentors are encouraged to bring them as well, and I am very hopeful my mentor will be able to attend. Overall, the ISM Research Showcase is an excellent opportunity for us to show off our hard work and dedication to this program.

Regarding the actual preparations I’ve made this past week, crafting my display board was the main one. Our posters are required to have a few items, like our name, topic of study, and quote/mission statement, but other than that they are up to your imagination and creativity. I enjoy making things look visually appealing, so I had a lot of fun with this. I can confidently say I am ready and excited for the Research Showcase this Wednesday, January 16th, 2019.
