I knew finding interviewee potentials in the field of robotic surgery would be a difficult task going into the program, but I’ve found it to be even harder than I originally realized. While I’ve had 3 interviews thus far, the last 2 have been extremely difficult to come by. Despite my constant efforts at reaching out to professionals, I’m having trouble locking down 2 more surgeons that I can interview. I’m hoping that my luck will soon change, because as of right now I am at a loss!

The research speech is one of many that we must prepare and practice that will be combined into one cumulative, 30 minute speech conducted on final presentation night (May 2018). This speech in particular, which I will perform to my ISM class on Thursday, November 16th, is focused entirely on the interviews and research assessments I’ve conducted throughout the year. It showcases the efforts I’ve put into the ISM program so far.

All in all, I must continue to interview robotic surgeons so that I may confidently decide on a mentor that I feel I can learn a lot from.
