I got to observe surgery on two separate occasions this week, once on Monday and once on Wednesday. Shockingly enough, a huge contrast to the time I’ve spent observing over the past couple of months, none of the surgeries were robotic hysterectomies. I’ve grown used to this specific surgery, as most of my mentor’s robot-assisted hysterectomies are performed in the morning when I am there, so being exposed to new surgeries like open hysterectomies was an exciting change.

I am so pleased to finally be finished with my Final Product, and I couldn’t be more proud of it. After spending about 33 hours in total on it, the project required a lot of time and dedication to ensure its success. For those of you that are unfamiliar with my Product, it is essentially a comprehensive, in-depth review of a robot-assisted hysterectomy. It serves the primary function of aiding young gynecologists in their da Vinci surgery endeavors, and is essentially an education tool. Furthermore, it showcases my mentor, Dr. Thomas Heffernan, and his unique technique that he has formulated over years of experience. You can click here to see it published on my website.
