The turf field in the Ford Center at the Star looked incredible, set up with intricate balloon arches, elegant silver table cloths, and hundreds of ISM students complete with their display boards and research portfolios. I was in awe of the creativity and professionalism of most of the students there, and I loved being able to look at other schools and the unique elements of their projects. As I have only been exposed to the topics and projects of my peers at Frisco High School, finding the most obscure and original studies of other students was very enjoyable. I saw topics ranging from baking and urban planning to animal law and theriogenology, all of which were accompanied with a student who is passionate and extremely knowledgeable on their choice of study.

Even though standing in the same spot in heels for 2 hours was slightly difficult, the experience and practice I gained was well worth the struggle. There was never a dull moment in those couple of hours. I was constantly approached by people inquiring on my topic, many of whom had no prior knowledge on the da Vinci surgical robot. I enjoyed getting to explain the basics of the device as well as my research and Original Work, as well as answering any questions my audience could fathom. It was an incredible learning experience. Now, with a strong mindset and a renewed sense of confidence in my professional abilities, I will continue to strive for excellence and take initiative in my learning on my ISM journey.
