Lucy c. Laney Wildcat Battalion

Our Battalion is filled with great leaders starting with our Instructors. Our Cadets are great leaders and never give up. Many other Battalions in our area value the way we run our Battalion. We have the best instructors in the State and they inspire all cadets to go after their dreams and use the leadership gained in the program. We have some of the best leaders in Augusta, in the State of Georgia itself, and in the Nation. Our outstanding line-up of leaders work hard to make sure the Wildcat Battalion upholds it title as "Honor Unit With Distinction". This title is not an easy title to receive but with the combined work of the instructors, the cadet leadership (as it is a cadet led program), and the cadets within the battalion, THE Wildcat Battalion EARNED this title with flying colors.

Our Battalion is trusted by many people in our community. We are a very dependable battalion and we never fail to finish the job at hand. We are called upon to do many things in the community such as the Golden Harvest Food Bank, Junior Achievement, Nursing Homes, Veteran Homes, etc. We are also called upon by other schools to participate in their programs and sometime we even do other school's Graduation Ceremonies. We currently the award called the Top Community Service Award stating our efforts in giving back and serving our community in many different ways.

Our Battalion is valued by many other battalions in the state of Georgia. We have one of the best Color Guard and Drill Teams in the CSRA, the city of Augusta, and the state of Georgia. Our leaders in the program are used for many different things when battalions come together. Our different teams are excellent in every aspect needed to become the best consistent, productive, and performing team. This Past year our Color-Guard and Drill Team placed no less than 2nd Place in our Area Drill Meet.
